Photo of the Day – May 31

Every morning, ok maybe not every morning, I water the little seedlings of squash I’ve planted in my little four shelf greenhouse. A few weeks ago, when I first got around to planting them, I noticed a bird’s nest in one of the flower pots (last year it was in my watering can). A few days after that, I noticed four eggs in it. I have been watching mama bird for weeks, and keeping my cocker spaniels away from the nest. I even moved the flower pot up to a higher shelf, out of their reach. Well, this morning, mama was not home, but a little movement caught my eye and this is what I found.

I love wildflowers, especially flowers that find the most unlikely places to grow.

Happy New Year!

2014 is here and I hope it brings glad tidings. My faith and patience were tested a great deal in 2013. I pray that 2014 will be a healthy, happy, and prosperous year for me and my family, and yours as well. So, with it being 2014 now, here is this year’s first Photo of the Day. My one year old son refused to go to bed and stayed up to welcome the new year with me (my husband went to bed at 10).

Photo of the Day – Nov. 5th

Today’s Photo of the Day comes from one of my favorite places. I love sitting under the old live oaks. They are my favorite part about living in the south, ok, no snow is my favorite part. But the trees are a close second.

I love the symbolism behind this shot. Sometimes you just need to stand out from the crowd. On a sad note, we have to have the tree these crocuses surround removed because a fungus is killing it and there is no way to save it. I’m not quite sure where my crocuses will be moved to yet.
